Many clients are looking at gravity concentration plants with the recent meteoric rise in the gold price. The advent of the iCON a year ago providing a cheap but effective artisanal gravity concentrator has resulted in the sale of some 400 units; and we are still counting! The need for a small turnkey that can handle all kinds of artisanal arisings led to the design of a small portable plant capable of treating up to 5 tph.

Sepro recently added a 30 tph module to this range.

The process commences with a scrubber and screen. The scrubber will be able to mix up and wash all agglomerated particles or large rocks/strange objects that may be in the deposit. The screen following the scrubber will reject any large rocks or foreign material that may be tied up in the tailings.

The screen undersize will report to an ICON, with the 1st iCON tails being pumped to the 2nd iCON, both tailings streams from these iCONS joining the screen overflow for disposal. Each iCON will produce about 750grams of concentrate per cycle. This means that on an average cycle time of 30 minutes we will get 1.5kg of concentrate per hour or 70kg per day. This can be cleaned by a small shaking table, blue bowl or other small gold cleaning device.
